Before we learn how to add google analytics? to your blog let's discuss why use blogger? over any other free blogging platform?
Blogger is one of the most popular free blogging platform. If you talk about features or functionality it is in the top of this list among all free blogging platforms. Why?
- Because this will not show any branding in header (technically in a top header) like wordpress or wix do. which is annoying to users. (yes it will show the branding but in footer :) ).
- Blogger is providing so many other functionality like google analytics, google search console, custom 404 page, url redirection, robots.txt management for each page, etc which no one is providing.

How To Connect Google Analytics with Blogger
It's very easy to connect your blog or blogger website with analytics and search console. Before you start following the steps mention below. You should have a google account, name of the blog or website you are planning to create, a https URL of the blog. Now let's Follow the below steps one by one.
- Create a Google Analytics Account:
You can create the account by visiting this URL www.analytics.google.com.
Step 1 :-
Enter the name of your blog or website. Don't worry this is for your understanding, so you can enter anything related to the blog or website or company etc.
Step 2:- Select the type of platform you want to measure. Here we have to select the "Web" as we will measure the traffic on our blog. "App and Web" is under trial and as of now the blogger will not accepting this property. The "App and web" version is still incomplete and most of the features are not there which are there in "Web" version.
Google analytics with "Web" version is fare enough to give you all the complicated analytics. Select the "Web" and hit next.
Step 3:-
Here you have to enter the details which are related to the blog or website you have created.
Website Name:- Enter any name related to the website.
Website URL:- add the URL and select the https from the drop-down.
Industry:- Select the most appropriate category. If your blog's category is not listed simply select "other".
Reporting Time Zone:- Select your country. and click on 'Create'
You have to accept the terms and conditions in next step and after that you will be redirected to the screen which looks like this.
You just need to copy the tracking ID (mentioned in the above image) and use it to configure with your bloggers blog or website. - Add the analytics Tracking ID into blogger.
Follow the below steps
Step 1:-
Login to your Blogger Account and find the 'Google Analytics Property ID' button. (shown in the blow image)
Step 2:
Enter the Google Analytics ID into to text box which you copied from the analytics account.
Step 3:
After you click on save it will show like this
Your Analytics is successfully added to your blog. Traffic of your blog will be now measured by google analytics and you can see the real time reporting also.
